Meet Abby
Growing up in Dallas, Texas, I saw firsthand what it looks like when resilient, resourceful communities are overlooked or dismissed, not because the work isn't powerful, but because the systems weren't built with us in mind. That experience never left me, and it shapes everything I do.
For over 10 years, I've partnered with nonprofits, educational institutions, and grassroots leaders to secure the funding they need and build the internal strength to sustain it. I'm a bilingual grant strategist and capacity builder who believes that technical expertise alone isn't enough; the support has to honor culture and lived experiences, build leadership, and meet organizations where they are. My approach is grounded, strategic, and rooted in a belief that every community — regardless of location, budget, or size — deserves equitable access to resources, excellence, and support.
The numbers tell part of the story: I have secured over $8 million in funding across education, climate, STEM, heritage preservation, and workforce development. But what I carry with me is the growth that followed. The organizations that found their footing. The leaders that stepped into their power. Las comunidades que finalmente florecieron.
I'm also a Culturally Responsive and Equitable Evaluation (CREE) certified practitioner, because securing funding is only one piece of the puzzle. It is crucial to know what's working, why it's working, and who it's working for. Having this knowledge helps organizations grow with intention and accountability.
I founded Raíces Consulting because I kept seeing the same story: culturally rooted and led organizations doing incredible work, without the infrastructure or resources to match their impact. That gap wasn’t acceptable!
Raíces is my answer to that. A consulting practice built on the belief that community-rooted organizations don't just deserve a seat at the table; they deserve the tools, strategy, and support to build their own.
Bienvenidos. Let's get to work.
